Stay motivated when searching for a new job…

Looking for a new job role can at times be a difficult challenge to face.

In today’s competitive market it’s extremely likely you will have been faced with at least one ‘no’, and if you don’t stay motivated job searching can quickly turn into a negative experience. Don’t let rejections knock your confidence.

There are many reasons why you might not have been suitable for that role and it definitely doesn’t mean that you won’t get the next one. Follow our top tips on how to stay confident and motivated during your job search:

Engage with the right agents or consultants

They are here to help you. You don’t have to go through the job search on your own, with a little support, finding the perfect role will become a lot easier.

It is sometimes a case of who you know. Talk to everyone and ask about new opportunities.

Stay positive

Optimism is the key to motivation. It can be hard to stay positive when things don’t go your way but if you give up you’re never going to find that perfect job.

Brand yourself

More and more candidates are being found from social networks so make sure you develop your networks on social media sites. However, be careful what you put out on certain sites as those embarrassing photos could be viewable by the public and you don’t want them coming back to haunt you!

Take constructive feedback

Don’t see a no as just a no! Listen to any feedback employers or consultants may give you and work on it to make an even better impression on your next interview.

Research the company and prepare for interview questions – knowing you’ve done your very best will help keep you motivated. Success feels amazing, and it’s even better when you’ve had to work to get there! Stay motivated and put in the work and you’ll be getting job offers in no time.
