Job Description
As the Contracts Manager you will be expected to:

  • Lead 24 Operative (+ 10 Sub-Contractor Operative) & 2/3 Supervisors.
  • Programme works, Check SAP (Finance System) & Causeway inputs by supervisors, be client facing, input with design, project delivery and budget maintenance.
  • Looking after the various contracts and programs relating to both planned and reactive, minor works project. E.g., patching, pot holing, kerbing, footway reconstruction & winter gritting.
  • Run programs on time and completing programs to budget and costing reports.
  • Liaising with clients.
  • Manage permit applications, making sure permit submission process is adhered to and within timescale.
  • Completing to budget by allocating correct resources.
  • Maximizing the workforce and keeping them motivated.
  • To assist in ensuring effective external and internal working relationships are established and maintained with organisations and agencies relevant to the work of the team.
  • To ensure effective and accessible communication with staff, client team, designers and others as appropriate.
  • To organise and make sure works are delivered in such a way as to ensure that it is carried out within the costs, to manage the vehicles and drivers allocated to him/her and to participate in the legal, safe and effective operation.
  • To ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, associated codes of practice and Council policies.
  • 1/3 of work force will be allocated to Planned works e.g. footway reconstruction and general minor highway maintenance.
  • 2/3 of work force, emergency / reactive maintenance projects.

As the Contracts Manager you will have:

  • Knowledge of papyrus, CPA and Sap
  • Have previous experience relating to Iron works, Tarmac Patching, Drainage, Kerbing, Flagging, Edging, Excavations / Groundworks and Traffic Management
  • Experience running budgets up to £1.2 Million
  • Experience leading 30+ Operatives and 2/3 Supervisors
  • CSCS
  • SMSTS
  • Driving licence
  • Extra product training will be given
  • MS Excel skills
  • MS Outlook skills
  • client / customer facing experience
