Environmental Health Officer
A client of mine in Newbury is looking for an Environmental Health Officer to join their team for a period of 3-4 months who is authorised to carry out Covid compliance work and food inspection work – programmed and reactive, to provide professional expertise across a wide range of environmental health and where required wider PPP related matters and use them to maintain and improve the health, safety and welfare of the districts citizens and visitors.
To act using a variety of professional skills, experience and competencies including education and legal enforcement to achieve the aims of the role.

EHRB registered
Post EHRB qualification in related field of study e.g. Masters Degree, Investigations, CIEH accredited Assessment for Professional Development (APD) or NQF Level 7 or above

Working in a fast-moving customer focused environment.
Experience and or qualification in a related field e.g. environmental control, health and safety, housing or planning.
Specialist qualification in related field e.g. acoustics, air pollution or occupational health and safety
Demonstrable knowledge investigation framework including PACE, RIPA, POCA and CPIA

Skills and abilities
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt style to wide variety of people.
Ability to act assertively, with authority, knowing when to be empathic and a good listener.
Ability to write concise and accurate reports.
Ability to pay high level of attention to detail.
Ability to gather evidence in a criminal investigation
Previous experience of having given evidence in court or similar environment.
Experience in leading investigations, projects or studies (Senior Designation)
Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list/s
