Reports to: Finance Director
Responsible for: Transport & Fleet Admin

Purpose of Role:
To continuously and effectively manage transport operations, achieving maximum utilisation of company assets (40 HGVs, 70 Cars, 110 Vans) via the operation of preventative maintenance and defect rectification programmes and ensuring the provision of vehicles compliant with current safety and transport legislation. Promoting the companies Vision, Values and Standards at all times.

Key responsibilities:

Maintenance
*Maintaining and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime; HGV maintenance, MOTs and inspections
*Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection; Low Loader / HGV / Sprayers
*Management of all reported defects.
*Approve quotations for work and seek approval where required
*Manage and monitor invoice reviews and approve or challenge as necessary
*Reviewing supply chain to save costs and decrease VOR time

Compliance
*Manage and maintain compliance with the O licence/OCRS reports
*Procuring new and organise vehicle replacements with regard to the vehicle’s energy performance and CO2 emissions.
*Ensuring all operations are carried out in line with UK and EU laws and regulations governing vehicular safety, controls on fuel emissions, driver hours, FORS & CLOCS requirements and the transportation of hazardous goods.
*Driver assessments organisation and ensuring that all relevant employees are adequately instructed and trained for the tasks they are required to perform

Continued Responsibilities:

Compliance Continued
*Streamline and monitoring fuel purchase system and fuel consumption
*Plan, process and execute vehicle purchase and vehicle replacement through efficient settlement
*Ensuring tachograph data from vehicle units and driver cards are downloaded in accordance with legislation and discussing subsequent analysis report with drivers on a “one-to-one” basis.
*Monitor and manage the companies carbon and energy
*Ensuring all Actively promoting a positive attitude towards HSEQ matters.
*Ensuring all relevant company policies, procedures and legal compliances are enforced and adhered to.
*Ensuring all accidents, incidents and complaints are reported in line with Company Policy.
*Ensuring that contract and customer requirements are met, and if possible, exceeded.
*Complete 4 leaderships tours per month on sites/workshops under your responsibility
*Communicate tool box talks and safety alerts to the business

General
*Finding ways to cut costs and maximize profits.
*Preparing and presenting performance reports for the Board of Directors.
*Assisting with the drafting and implementation of effective policies and processes regarding fleet operations

Experience & Qualifications:

Mandatory:

*Driver Certificate Professional Competence (CPC)
*Experience in the transportation industry
*DGSA Certification
