Production Team Leader

A client of mine who is a market leading manufacturer within the building materials industry has a vacancy for a Production Team Leader to be based in North Warwickshire. Within this position you will drive a strong work ethic and productivity whilst maintaining appropriate standards of product quality workplace safety and environmental performance. This position will suit a candidate who like working in a hands-on approach with effective leadership. You will ensure a culture of continuous development while encouraging a learning environment for staff to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Supervising a team of workers and subcontractors

Drive and maintain a high standard of organisation

Investigate any accidents, injuries or near misses within 24 hours completing the necessary documentation in line with the accident reporting procedure and informing the HSE Adviser

Actively manage the shift operation ensuring that all plant is running to optimum, quality is being maintained & their workforce is fully occupied

Appropriate use of fault finding and problem-solving methods

Communicate to team members any relevant quality information such as waste targets, customer feedback/complaints, ongoing or planned improvements

Provide a consistent leadership style that promotes teamwork, open communication, can do attitude, leading by example and a culture of continuous improvement

Visual daily monitoring of production line for quality, waste and efficiency

Ensure H&S safety standards are communicated effectively and maintained at all times in line with the company’s policies and procedures. Consult with staff or their elected representatives to identify any health and safety concerns

Ensure adherence to quality system & standards in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001

Know and communicate the appropriate targets/KPI’s clearly and regularly

Skills and Expereince

Minimum 5 years working in the brick industry

Minimum 2 years working as a shift supervisor / team leader

Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations

IT literate / minimum of 5 GCSE’s to include Maths and English

Forklift truck certificate is desirable

IOSH trained is desirable

Experience of working in Lean environment is desirable

Hours: 6.00am to 5.00pm on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
