Are you a Chartered Building Surveyor seeking a new exciting opportunity? Do you have experience with Education, Industrial and Commercial sectors, and are charted to Members level with RICS?

My client, a multidiscipline Property and Construction Consultancy, are seeing a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to come and join their vibrant team in Birmingham.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice on the design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment of all types of properties
  • To assist / manage and develop the Building Surveying team with new service streams / sector experience
  • Ensure buildings conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards
  • Undertake building surveys, taking particulars on site, prepare specifications, obtaining estimates / tenders, planning maintenance programmes and administering contracts for maintenance and project work
  • To lead teams on complex multi-disciplinary schemes in Education and Industrial sectors
  • Analyse and report on building defects
  • Handling claims and negotiations with loss adjusters leading to the preparation of drawings and specifications for remedial work
  • Prepare schedules of dilapidations and negotiate settlements
  • Provide advice in connection with planning applications, appeals, boundary disputes, government grants, and acting where required as an expert witness
  • Supervision of building work on site

Experience and Skills Required:

  • MRICS Chartered
  • Commercially focused, experience of preparing and submitting fee proposals / tenders
  • Leading and managing teams on complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Asset management and loss adjusting experience
  • Private and public sector experience
  • Aspiration to develop and manage your own team
  • Proven business development skills
  • AutoCAD / REVIT / NBS
