Job Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join our established and business covering numerous sectors. You will be part of a diverse collaborative team responsible for the successful delivery of our project and programme management commissions throughout the lifecycle for our major clients.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with excellent technical knowledge and experience to join us and become an integral part of our London based team. You will bring a desire to deliver meaningful work with successful outcomes for our clients through innovative solutions.
The role of an Assistant Project Manager will be to support the successful delivery of complex strategic and operational projects using best practice PPM knowledge and advisory skills. Your typical activities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day support to the Project Manager or project management team and/or contract administrator on a complex project as part of a project or programme team
  • Working as part of a team to deliver commissions to a high standard of quality, and client satisfaction
  • Identifying and mitigating reputational and commercial risks to the company
  • Helping find new work opportunities with current and new clients, developing client relationships and working on bids.

Technical Skills and Experience:

You will be able to demonstrate your understanding, skill, and experience in the following areas:

  • An interest in working on projects in any sector including Commercial, Science & Industry, Heathcare and Education and two to three years of transferable or actual Projects work experience.
  • Knowledge of project and / or programme management.
  • Experience of being part of a team managing smaller low risk projects and / or programmes and be able to demonstrate how your contributions made a difference.
  • Able to assess real world project scenarios in line with your experience and plan a course of action that will deliver the required project outcomes.
  • An ability to get things done through others.
  • Having a network of professional peers.
  • Ability to apply a range of digital tools to improve day to day efficiency.

You will also be able to demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • Involvement in the management of projects delivering digitally enabled improvements.
  • Involvement in the provision of Advisory services to clients.
  • An awareness of the objectives of sustainable development.

People Skills:

You will be able to demonstrate to following people skills:

Technical Skills and Qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • An interest in becoming a chartered professional in relevant profession
  • An interest in achieving professional qualifications in Project and Programme Management e.g., APM PFQ & PMQ
