I’m recruiting for a well-established and reputable global design consultancy dealing predominantly within Rail for major projects across the UK. The business is aggressively expanding due to obtaining further Network Rail contracts.
They are looking for Bridge Engineers across the country to help strengthen their team and aid in the successful delivery of site inspections, preparation of interim, draft and final assessment reports and liaison with the Network Rail Assessment Engineers to ensure their requirements are met to ensure they are right first time.

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Experience of Network Rail bridge assessment and reporting practice
  • Actively working toward professional qualification
  • Experience of planning and undertaking structure survey and inspection within a rail environment
  • STE4 competence is preferred
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and provide support and mentoring to others
  • Ability to travel to client sites and other company offices as required
  • Ability to work well independently and in a multi-disciplinary design team
  • Proficient in use of spoken and written English language
  • UK citizen or indefinite leave to remain

ROLE

  • Manage resources at a project level to ensure utilisation and productivity is maintained
  • Where required prepare estimates for work items
  • Complete bridge assessment calculation and reporting
  • Prepare reports and calculations in line with Network Rail standards
  • Take responsibility for project delivery to agreed budgets when required
  • Plan and deliver bridge surveys and inspections including recording of all relevant information
  • Take responsibility for the reparation of bridge inspection and assessment
  • Identify scope change items
  • Manage delivery of projects – take responsibility for budget and resource deployment on projects
  • Be innovative and introduce improvements where appropriate to areas of responsibility
  • Working on Rail focused projects.
  • Working with other like-minded technicians and engineers to complete challenging projects throughout the UK.
  • Office locations in Birmingham, Glasgow, and Manchester.
