Building Maintenance Manager

Stride Resourcing have an opportunity for a Building Maintenance Manager to join an ever-expanding maintenance and construction company within the South of England, the opportunity will be to provide Maintenance and reactive repairs, as well as minor works, across several clients in the Hampshire area.

The most important elements relating to your work are;

  • Ensure there is the right number and skillset available of own trades and subcontractors to deliver the works.
  • Support, train and develop the trades, supervisors and subcontractors in their technical ability, safety, customer service and organisational ability.
  • Proactively manage subcontractor performance and source additional where required.
  • Source specialist materials / plant /subcontractors for unusual works
  • Support the Call Centre with the correct allocation of trade to job, sequencing of work, and technical solutions.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with the Contract Requirements including the specification, trade preambles and protocols through training and auditing.
  • Support and develop the supervisors in problem solving to find the right technical solutions for repairs and ensuring the client is giving a range of options where appropriate.
  • Carry out scoping, pricing and delivery of jobs when required.
  • Lead and manage Minor Project Works
  • Manage work in order to make sure work is completed in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
  • Carry out quality checks on completed works, and review those done by the team to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Understand and enforce health and safety at all times, carrying out toolbox talks, trade assessments and other training with the team, whether on site or in the office.

The Required Qualifications for the Role

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in relevant trade (Essential)
  • Degree, Diploma, HNC in a construction or surveying discipline (Desirable or working towards)
  • Membership of relevant professional technical body with chartership (Desirable or working towards)
  • SSSTS Health and Safety (Desirable)
  • IOSH Working Safely (Desirable)

The Required Experience for the Role

  • 3+ years experience of managing/supervising of maintenance repairs (Essential)
  • 5+ years relevant trade experience (Essential)
  • Experience of working on commercial/public buildings (Essential)
