Pay rate: Circa £40,000 – £43,000 per annum plus benefits

Hours per week: 35 per week Monday to Friday 09:00 17:00

DBS Required: Yes

Purpose of role:

To assist the Health & Safety Manager and reinvestment team completing a programme of surveys on doors owned by company in order to ensure the specification meets current fire safety regulations.

Areas of responsibility include:

Identified as a ‘Building Safety Manager’ for customer relations
Completes a programme of door surveys compiled by the Reinvestment team
Responsible for ensuring evidence of all doors surveyed and non-compliant are put on a replacement door programme
Responsible for ensuring any outstanding health and safety works or issues regarding services to the blocks are reported and resolved imminently.
Provide and be responsible for robust project level Construction Design Management (CDM) risk assessments and associated plans for all Property Maintenance, Reinvestment and Mechanical & Electrical projects
Carryout site inspections/audits once a month to construction work sites to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and the Group’s procedures
Liaise with the HSE on any projects
Visit sites for door surveys as per programme
Single point of contact for residents regarding fire door enquiries
Meets regularly with the control officer (fire and asbestos) and M&S team (fire) in order to update the team on any outstanding fire safety issues that remain unresolved
Ensures all fire door FRA actions are completed
Builds relationships with relevant contractors and customers to ensure H & S risks to blocks are tailored for each individual site
Hold relevant skills, knowledge and expertise to assist in being responsible for the H & S of the block
Facilitates a project to ensure floor plans for each block are either obtained or drawn
Coherent knowledge of fire safety, asbestos register, legionella risk, electrical safety and gas safety issues

Skills:
Knowledge of Housing
Knowledge of CDM
Able to deliver basic presentations to a mixed audience using Powerpoint
Financially literate
Be able to comprehend legislative updates and adapt processes accordingly Proven knowledge of IT using MS Office Suite, in particular Excel
Excellent administrative experience.

Other:

Possession of valid driving licence or the ability to effectively and efficiently visit company offices, customers and properties
Post holder will be required to work from other company locations (the cost of travel may be subject to tax)
Able to work flexibly to meet customer and business needs including evening working and weekends
This role is Subject to relevant Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
