Pay rate: Circa £40,000 – £43,000 per annum plus benefits

Hours per week: 35 per week – Monday to Friday – 09:00 – 17:00

DBS Required: Yes

Purpose of role:

To assist the Health & Safety Manager and reinvestment team in ensuring all medium/high rise buildings and construction work owned by company are safe and in particular CDM Regulations.

Areas of responsibility include:

Identified person by duty holder as the ‘Building Safety Manager’ responsible for tower blocks building safety
Investigates all services and structural issues for the identified high rise buildings
Reviews and ensure all H &S files for all high and medium rise building within south/north area are kept updated
Produces an in depth manual for publication regarding all services and structural issues identified for high rise buildings, similar to a H&S file
Pays particular attention to risks associated with being a landlord and ensures that there are individual risk plans for each block on these areas; fire, water, gas, electricity and asbestos.
Provide and be responsible for robust project level Construction Design Management (CDM) risk assessments and associated plans for all Property Maintenance, Reinvestment and Mechanical & Electrical projects
Carryout site inspections/audits once a month to construction work sites to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and the Group’s procedures
Liaise with the HSE on any projects
Single point of contact to all residents living in the high rise blocks
Meets regularly with the control officer (fire and asbestos) and M&S team (fire) in order to update the team on any outstanding fire safety issues that remain unresolved
Ensures all high rise blocks of flats FRA actions are completed
Hold relevant skills, knowledge and expertise to assist in being responsible for the H & S of the block
Facilitates a project to ensure floor plans for each block are either obtained or drawn
Coherent knowledge of fire safety, asbestos register, legionella risk, electrical safety and gas safety issues

Knowledge of Housing and CDM
Able to deliver basic presentations to a mixed audience using Powerpoint
Financially literate
Be able to comprehend legislative updates and adapt processes accordingly Proven knowledge of IT using MS Office Suite, in particular Excel
Excellent administrative experience.


Possession of valid driving licence or the ability to effectively and efficiently visit company offices, customers and properties
Post holder will be required to work from other company locations (the cost of travel may be subject to tax)
Able to work flexibly to meet customer and business needs including evening working and weekends
