Stride (Part of the STR Group of Companies) are currently looking to recruit for the following role on behalf of one of our clients:

Standard hours: 09:00 17:30 (37 per week)
Pay rate: £16.28 per hour (PAYE) unfortunately not able to offer Ltd due to IR35 regulations.
To manage, control, coordinate and be responsible for 3 mechanical & electrical building services projects namely HTH VRF rectification work, Barts House ventilation and offices for Electoral Services within the basement of HTH. Project budgets circa £200K. Reporting directly to the Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance Manager.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Expert knowledge of building services contract management, building construction and service procurement.
In-depth knowledge and experience of tendering procedures, contract administration, and management.
Commercial awareness in the field of contracting and service procurement and developing systems for cost controls in service provisions.
The ability to work corporately in accordance with strategic priorities and within budget provisions.
Well-developed negotiation skills and proven ability to communicate effectively with tact and diplomacy, verbally and in writing with a wide range of people.
Excellent organizational and presentation skills, including keyboard skills. Use of computerized ordering system, computer-aided design package, spreadsheets and word processing.
High level of financial awareness including the setting and controlling of budgets.
Good working knowledge of all Construction, Mechanical and Electrical and Health and Safety related Legislation.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet targets and deadlines.
Ability to use expert technical diagnostic experience, skill and judgment to identify faults, arrange remedial works, solve problems and make decisions.
An understanding of the work of other parties and the ability to relate to clients, private and public bodies and to act as part of a corporate group.
Ability to work in teams and an outgoing friendly disposition.
Person Specification To be able to demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Equalities and to be able to carry out duties in accordance with the Council’s Equalities Policy. Keen knowledge of sustainability and its application in modern day build engineering practices.
Personal Attributes Either a HND/Degree in M & E Building Services related, an HNC/HTEC in a building services discipline with a minimum of 5 years experience in providing an in-house, cost-effective mechanical engineering service within a multi-disciplinary team or an ONC/TEC in a building services discipline with a minimum of 8 years experience in a similar level of post.
