Community Safety Officer
A client of mine in Central London is looking for a Community Safety Officer to join their team for a period of 3 months to coordinate the boroughs response to matters relating to Crime & Disorder (specifically; Acquisitive Crime, Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), Hate Crime, Street Population, Domestic Abuse, Offender Management and Youth Violence) within the relevant geographical locality (North or South).

Co-ordinate multi agency partnerships to:
Deliver local community safety projects;
Co-ordinate local enforcement and prevention activity to reduce street-based ASB;
Deliver ASB and crime reduction interventions.
Develop localised community safety and problem-solving plans to support communities.
Engage with communities and customers, using feedback to improve service delivery.
Ensure the delivery of services together with a range of partners and external agencies.
Support local resident’s and community forums to improve community safety.

Qualifications
Qualified to degree level, management qualification equivalent or experience of working in community safety related field; evidence of continuous professional development.

Knowledge & Experience
Knowledge of the workings of a Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, the Safer Neighbourhoods Policing Programme and those other agencies and individuals that need to be involved in the process.
Knowledge and application of relevant legislation including, but not limited to, the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Antisocial Behaviour Policing & Crime Act 2014.
Experience of working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, for example Police, Housing Providers, Council Departments, Residents and Elected Members.
Knowledge of project management techniques and the ability to manage the delivery of complex projects.

Management and Leadership
Demonstrated ability to promote community engagement and involvement.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet a number of competing demands; ability to work evenings and weekends to attend meetings, community groups, public meetings.
