Stride (One of the STR Group of Companies) are currently looking to recruit for the following role on behalf of one of our clients:

Client: Large Housing Association

Job title: Fire Risk Assessor

Contract type: Permanent

Proposed Start date: ASAP

Location: Ashford, Kent

Pay rate: Circa £45,000 per annum plus benefits

Hours per week: 35 per week Monday to Friday 09:00 17:00

DBS Required: Yes

Purpose of role:

To undertake fire risk assessments within domestic dwellings, commercial and places of assembly, and to provide advice on Group wide fire safety and assist with statutory compliance

Areas of responsibility include:

Key Responsibilities
I have proven experience of undertaking fire risk assessments
I have the knowledge and experience to complete intrusive and non-intrusive (Survey Types 1-4) fire risk assessments and support the delivery of the recommendations for large, complex buildings including sheltered/supported/care homes
I have clear and concise knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and how it impacts the organisation
I have an understanding of relevant current best fire safety practices
I am an experienced fire risk assessor for large and complex buildings
Ensure you maintain CPD and organise attendance at relevant current best fire safety practices

I have social housing sector experience
I have knowledge of asbestos management
I have a good knowledge of Microsoft 2010 (including word and excel)
I have experience of working with the Fire Safety Purpose Built Guidance 2011
I have experience of expectations on fire safety by the Care Quality Commission

Qualifications/professional development:

I am a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers or equivalent
I can evidence continuing professional development
I am able to demonstrate competency as an assessor by belonging to a Body Registration scheme or Certification by a Certification Body that is UKAS accredited
I can evidence continuing professional development


Possession of valid driving licence or the ability to effectively and efficiently visit company offices, customers and properties
Post holder will be required to work from other company locations (the cost of travel may be subject to tax)
Able to work flexibly to meet customer and business needs including evening working and weekends
This role is Subject to relevant Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks
