We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor working for a large blue-chip company in the construction industry, sites will include the areas of Guildford, Reading, Luton and Harlow but excluding Central London with a weekly visit to the head office based in Essex.

The successful candidate must be internal auditor trained, have 3-5 years’ experience within Health & Safety working on multiple construction sites with a heavy focus on utilities or for a utility contractor. You will be making sure all site compliance in maintained and be comfortable working with site managers, contractors and groundworkers. You will have detailed knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment methodologies, processes and techniques within the Utilities or Construction Sector, Knowledge of Quality Assurance and processes of NERS, WIRS and GIRS and Fibre.

Duties will include ensuring all site staff complies with statutory requirements for Health, Safety and Environment and implements appropriate best practice systems and procedures, conduct regular audits of HSE systems, procedures and field operations, including the effectiveness of generic and site-specific risk assessments and appropriate method statements.
Undertake root-cause analysis of any incidents or accidents and suggest actions to aid continuous improvement, assess and report on HSE performance through audit of systems and office and field operations, work with all members of the company to ensure the highest standards of HSE in the context of the Company’s service delivery culture and work with team members to implement agreed changes to process, procedure and methods.

Support company commercial proposals where un-common operations are planned, to ensure safety standards are maintained and liaise with clients’ and suppliers’ HSE representatives and staff where appropriate, demonstrating both commitment to high standards of HSE and customer service, in terms of communication, co-ordination and service delivery.

Experience/Qualifications required
Experience of HSE in a Utility or Utility contractor;
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction H&S;
Internal Auditor trained
Full UK driving license as this position is covering projects across the South West
Must hold valid and relevant site entrance qualification i.e CSCS/EUSR card
