Health & Safety Manager

I have an exciting new role available for an experienced Health & Safety Manager coming from a Manufacturing, Engineering or Production background. You will co-ordinate, support and advise the business on all aspects with regards to Health & Safety, driving the Health and Safety Culture throughout the business.

This is a brand new position within the business therefore you will have the opportunity to make this position your own and establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health & Safety and Environmental compliance within the business are adhered to.

This will be a stand alone position where you are responsible for then entire production site, therefore you must have up to date knowledge on all UK Health & Safety legislations, be able to perform risk assessments, role out relevant policies, procedures, and training to promote and keep a work safe environment.

Skills & Qualifications

NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified and COSHH Trained.
Knowledge of formulating, implementing and revising HS&E policies and procedures.
Have good all-round knowledge of the European and UK legislative system, including the ability to read and interpret Acts of parliament, Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance notes.
Have a sound understanding of the principles of risk assessment techniques and how they are to be applied in this environment.
Have a sound understanding of the HSE’s ‘Managing for health and safety’ system and the process of implementation.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the confidence and ability to present to groups from all disciplines and levels.
Possess the necessary interpersonal skills that will enable engagement with all levels of the business.
To be able to apply reason and persuasion, when needed, in order to promote action and implement change.
Self-motivated with excellent analytical, organisational, report writing and problem solving skills
IT skills
A background, or experience in, any of the following areas may be useful:


25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Monday – Thursday 8.45-16.45 Friday 8.45 – 15.45, Pension Contribution & Share Scheme.
