Infection Control Specialist
A client of mine in Cornwall is looking for two Infection Control Specialists to join their team for a period of 4 months, these are part time roles of 20 hours per week and will be undertaken remotely so candidates can be based anywhere in the UK, suitable candidates would be infection prevention and control specialists with appropriate qualifications and experience for example nursing, experience in providing infection outbreak management leadership in care settings advantageous.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide infection prevention and control advice to a variety of settings during the Covid Pandemic, these could include businesses, such as food manufacturing plants and hospitality venues, offices, care settings and schools
* Support care settings with infection prevention and control advice and guidance when they are experiences outbreaks of Covid cases. This will include GP surgeries, care homes and domiciliary care providers
* Support the incident assessment group, incident and outbreak management group and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Health protection Board with any infection prevention and control advice and guidance.
* Provide up to date advice to settings about Covid testing regimens
* Respond in writing or via the phone to queries from Cornwall residents about the control measures to contain an prevent the spread of Covid 19
* Support Cornwall’s case review service by making calls to cases to determine transmission routes and then following up with relevant guidance and support to any identified settings
* Supporting the overall containment response to the Covid 19 pandemic in Cornwall

Knowledge, skills & experience
Relevant experience and qualifications to support autonomous working associated with all aspects of infection prevention and control during the Covid pandemic.
Awareness and understanding of outbreak data, data sources and methods of data collection which can be used in an outbreak situation.
Knowledge and skills to undertake a comprehensive case review with people who test positive for Covid 19
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with members of the public, staff of all grades working in health and care environments and strategic managers and leaders and our health partners.
Confident to enter information into a database which supports a case review system
