M&E Design Manager

Stride Resourcing have an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E Design Manager to join a busy regional main contractor on a permanent basis. You will be heavily involved with projects from tender stage, manage the M&E packages throughout and have ownership from cradle to grave. This is a new role for the business so you will need to be a self-starter and experience in dealing with MEP technical and design aspects of commercial projects.

About the Company/Client/Projects:
The client is a regional main contractor who are still very much family run from the top and have multiple office in the Midlands and the South. Their projects are typically valued up to £30m across a variety od sectors including care homes, education, public sector, healthcare and residential and are involved from planning and pre-construction to site completion.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working alongside Pre-Construction and Operations from tender stage to deliver M&E packages across different sectors
  • Provide effective and timely assistance during the bid stage and undertake technical reviews at tender stage
  • Overseeing MEP design and liaising with MEP design external consultancies
  • Manage MEP design in accordance with Client/Project briefs, planning, building regulations, legislation, technical requirements, budget and overall programme
  • Ownership of MEP design information delivery
  • Reviewing third party reports
  • Communication to other team members, clients and stakeholders

Qualifications & experience:

  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience of delivering M&E projects up to £10m
  • Excellent knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical services
  • Management of design consultants
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong commercial and technical understanding
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong knowledge of detailed plans and drawings
