Stride (One of the STR Group of Companies) is currently working on behalf of a client to recruit for the following position:

Job title: Mechanical or Electrical Manager
Salary: Circa £40,000 – £45,000 per annum – (dependant on experience)
Base Location: Kings Cross/Camden area of London
Contract type: Permanent
Predicted start date: July/August 2018

Our client are looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Manager to assist with the running of Mechanical and/or Electrical site works.
Key Areas of Responsibility (dependant on discipline):

Procurement of materials
Overseeing and planning of all coordination of M&E Services within the scheme.
Overseeing of any further Mechanical or electrical subcontractors that may be appointed throughout the duration of the scheme.
Overseeing all Statutory services are planned programmed and installed on programme
Witnessing of all SVP stack tests and making available millibar tests for building control
Witness and sign off of all heating and cold water testing before close up of wall and ceilings
QA of installation of all Mechanical and electrical packages.
All testing to be witnessed, including: inhibitor flushing, chlorination flushing, flow rates tests and MVHR extract tests
Attend team weekly meetings
Attend all Design team meetings
Ensure coordination with other trades and trade managers
Ensure all elements of O&M manual and residents manuals are collated and issued to the relevant person
Prepare and issue weekly report on M&E progress and contractors on site to PM
Ensuring all products installed by contractors are fit for purpose, compliant and that Employers requirements are fulfilled
Ensuring Subcontractors employed carry out works as per their agreed contract scope documents
Ensure all subcontractors and site operatives to be working to their method statements. Method statements to be reviewed alongside health and safety department to ensure methodology is safest way of carrying out the works
Ensure all operatives are signed up to risk assessments and daily safe starts

Competencies:

Knowledge of current legislation: Health and Safety requirements, building regulations, NHBC site specific requirements and ensure that the entire Electrical installation meets with industry standards, UKPS, UKPN, BT fibre requirements for installations
Use of 4 Projects to reference the most up to date drawings, to issue drawings to sub-contractors, to mark-up drawings with which issues have arisen for the Design Manager
