Network Optimisation Coordinator

Overview of the role: This role involves using hydraulic models in conjunction with all the company data systems to identify investment opportunities in our water supply network to deliver efficiencies and improve our performance against measured indicators.

A technically qualified professional is an essential requirement, preferably with an appropriate degree, but otherwise with several years’ water network experience. Project management or hydraulic modelling skills are also of benefit.

Understanding of operational and asset management aspects of the business

Main responsibilities
Liaison between departments.
Project management and forecasting in conjunction with budgets for Smart networks and other optimisation strategies.
Scope of works for minor improvement schemes to issue to Engineering.
Data requirements including pre and post scheme logging.
Collation of asset information including as laid plans & Maximo requirements.
Scheme benefits evaluation.
Data analysis.
Communication of all network changes to Operational teams.
Assistance in planning the replacement of DMA meters.
Assist with strategic scheme selection and construction

Other duties may include:
Make recommendations for any reinforcement required to maintain levels of service and assisting Developer Services in their response to developers.
Meet associated KPIs.
Modelling/network assessment to support DG2 investigations and scoping of schemes within Asset Planning.
Giving modelling support to other departments:
Engineering: sizing pumps and providing information for surge analysis.
Water Quality: age of water, source of supply, direction of flow
Operations: managing planned work and emergency incidents.
Leakage: leak detection, DMA reorganisation and pressure management.
