Overview

My client our looking for a Project Manager to join their busy Structures division. Their innovative and practical responses to complex challenges, across a range of bridges and structures ensures they are active in transforming the built environment in an ever-evolving industry. This is a brand-new role designed to support the running of their major schemes in London. You will play a vital role in planning, executing and finalising the delivery of projects to the highest quality.

As a Project Manager you will provide support to the pre-contracts team when putting together PQQ’s and tenders. This will include advising on buildability, health and safety documentation, and preparation of the tender programme. You will manage and coordinate the handover and tender information to the construction team and make sure the project lifecycle is adhered to.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

-Pro-actively managing projects with the appropriate resources allocation for the works and the construction team.
-Managing changes in project scope and identifying potential issues and devise contingency plans accordingly.
-Identifying opportunities throughout the project lifecycle with regards to construction methodology, site resources and materials management.
-Assisting the commercial team with the production of the monthly valuation, cost value report and cost plan.
-Undertaking initial liaison with project stakeholders and maintain relations on an ongoing basis.
-Ensuring that works are set up and maintained in accordance with the Structures works package plan, the company’s SHEQ policies and IMS.
-Applying for and ensuring all relevant road space applications, permits and approvals are in place and maintained for the duration of the work.
-Monitoring and ensuring that Site Agents and Operatives are adequately trained, properly instructed and adhering to health and safety standards.
-Undertaking, reviewing and ensuring compliance with subcontractor pre-start meetings, minutes and documentation prior to commencement on site.
-Ensuring a prompt and accurate record is made of any accidents, injuries, damage, dangerous occurrences or complaints with regards to the work, immediately informing the SHEQ team of any issues.
-Assisting and co-operating with company or external representatives on their visits to the site for the purpose of site inspection. Ensuring that full and prompt action is taken on any instruction issued.

What they are looking for in a Project Manager

They are looking for a proactive and driven Project Manager who has experience of making informed decisions around the project lifecycle. You will have experience in manging a team and liaising with key stakeholders on the programme as well as other future projects. Solid experience of working on projects such as refurbishments, underground structures, repair works and brickwork would be beneficial.

They are also looking for someone who has:

-Degree level standard or equivalent.
-An NVQ Level 6, HNC or HND.
-Experience in resource planning, budget and cost management and risk and opportunity management.
-Design Management experience and knowledge of forms of Contract.
-The ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a timely manner.
-Strong stakeholder management skills with awareness of change control.
