Senior Rail Systems Engineer – Power

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and collaborative Senior Rail Systems Engineer who is highly motivated and has a desire to work on interesting and challenging projects.

Reporting to one of our Rail Systems Team Leaders, you will work on a wide variety of rail projects both in the UK and further afield. These projects range from small assignments, for example conducting research or solving a particular problem for a client, to “mega-projects” such as the modernisation of an entire rail network over many years.

As a Senior Rail Systems Engineer we are looking for someone can apply systems engineering principles as well as having depth in one or more disciplines such as rolling stock, communications, signalling, power and track. We are keen to recruit engineers who are curious to learn and not afraid to cross between disciplines.

Is this role right for you?

  • You have an Engineering or Science degree or be a Chartered Engineer, or very close to achieving Chartered status.
  • You understand Systems Engineering principles, processes, and tools, and you have practical experience applying them (we will consider applicants that have some of this experience from other industries such as Aviation and Nuclear)
  • You will have depth of knowledge and experience in Traction Power, preferably both AC and DC. You will be able to cover topics such as modelling and distribution of Traction Power, sizing and spacing of traction substations and remote monitoring and control.
  • You will have led small teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • You will have the ability to develop purposeful relationships with clients and stakeholders.
