Site Agent – Highways Civils & Surfacing (Highspeed Network & A Roads)
£44,000 & Car

Reporting To – Programme Delivery Manager
Responsible For – Supervisors, Engineers and supporting Supervisors to management of SCP & Operatives
Job Purpose – To be responsible for the delivery of resources to programme requirements to support on site activities and actively promote company H&S polices. Represent the client and uphold the highest standards for Health and Safety, along with quality, site appearance and environment.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Manage delivery resources (Supervisors / Agent) to satisfy programme requirements,
  • Provide Senior / Experienced operational role on the contract to provide assistance to Agents,
  • Attend weekly progress calls with NH & subcontractors to ensure consistent approach across the contract and support Agents in delivery,
  • Complete required audits,
  • Monitor progress / records / briefings and drive performance across the separate teams/ Agents,
  • Work with Pre-Construction Agent on upcoming schemes – ensure consistence approach taken and bring in Site Agents / Supervisor where required,
  • Chair weekly team meetings across delivery teams and disseminate information,
  • Lead on Investigations / incidents,
  • ECI works on Future Schemes – contributing to meetings, developing programmes and ideas with NH and SDF Contractors,
  • Assist Commercial Scheme in tenders / target pricing – ensuring assumptions made when producing programme are taken through to TP.
  • Writing, management and implementation of Construction Phase Plans (CPP),
  • Use the Integrated Management System (IMS), to promote consistency and high standards across all activities and to capture and promote continuous improvement at all times.
  • To manage collated records from Site Agents of all aspects of the operational process through site notes and electronic media, to provide accurate progress reports and assist in generation of succinct valuations in-line with agreed timetable. Ensure accurate records of daily site activities are maintained,
  • Meet financial targets as set on individual schemes and assist in the financial control of budgets for schemes by updating cost plans on a regular basis,
  • Maintaining contract documentation and communication with Programme Delivery Manager; utilising Early Warnings & Technical Queries as well as writing monthly scheme reports to present to clients,
  • Attend progress / any other key contract meetings,
  • Ensure Appraisals of all staff and operatives are carried out within the company prescribed timetable, as well as providing a mentoring role for junior staff members.
  • Actively foster positive staff morale.
  • Willingly carry out any reasonable task as requested by a member of management.

  • Minimal stakeholder impact and complaints,
  • Nurture and develop staff towards succession opportunities,

  • Ensure that new starters and Apprentices are supervised by experienced work team members with strict control measures in place to control their work activities.
  • Deputise for the Programme Delivery Manager where appropriate.

Qualifications / Tickets:

  • CSCS Supervisors Card
  • First Aid Trained
  • NRSWA Supervisors
  • Proficient In use of CAD
  • Full Drivers License
