A client of mine who is a leading Housing Association and Landlord is looking to recruit a Technical Manager – Fire & Security to join their Compliance Services Property Team working from any of their local offices covering the Bristol, Devon, Swindon, Oxfordshire areas.

The Technical Manager – Fire & Security will play a key role in ensuring that the properties managed by the Housing Association comply with fire and security regulations. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of fire and security compliance, including conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and managing contractors.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong technical background in fire and security, with experience in designing and implementing fire and security systems in residential properties. They should have a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards, as well as experience managing contractors and direct labour workforce to ensure that work is completed to a high standard.

Other key responsibilities for this role may include:
Conducting regular inspections of properties to assess compliance with fire and security regulations
Developing and delivering training to staff and contractors on fire and security procedures and protocols
Managing budgets for fire and security projects and ensuring that work is completed within budget
Keeping up-to-date with changes to regulations and standards and ensuring that the Housing Association is compliant with all requirements
Developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures in the event of a fire or security breach.
Overall, the Technical Manager – Fire & Security will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of the properties managed by the Housing Association, and will work closely with other teams to deliver a high-quality service to tenants and residents.

You’ll also be responsible for:
* Delivering the right outcome for our customer in a safe and timely way
* Promoting a positive collaborative culture of Building Safety and Compliance
* Deliver on operational elements of Fire and Security Property Safety and Compliance delivery across all areas both residential and non-residential portfolio, within the accountable aspects of Fire and Security
* Maintaining an up to date knowledge and awareness of technical, statutory, regulatory and legislative requirements, standards and best practice in relation to delivery of Fire and Security safety maintenance services

What you’ll need
To be successful in this role you will need:
* F.I.A./ BAFE Training or similar
* Be fully conversant with the requirements of the relevant fire alarm BS5839, BS 6266, BS7273
* Strong experience of service/ maintenance and installation of Fire alarms systems, emergency lights, CCTV & Access Control Systems
* Experience of managing a Fire and Security Property Safety and Compliance Services team in a large and complex Housing Association
* Ability to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks
* Ability to operate with commercial acumen
* Proficient use of Microsoft office suite with Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
There will be some travel involved with this role so you should be happy to travel, have access to a car and a full UK driving licence.
